Deaconess Ministry

DEACONESS MINISTRY
Deaconess Patricia Gramby - President

“In the same way, Deaconesses are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers, but temperate and trustworthy in everything.”

The Deaconess Ministry was organized on January 10, 1940 by Deaconess Dorothy Miles, under the leadership of the late founder and pastor, Rev. James E. Miles, with four other members, Sister Holland, Sister Rose Lee Dollson, Sister Viola Canty and Sister E. Dudley.

Since that time, new members were added.  We have toiled and labored to do whatever has been assigned to us.  Our main duties are:  prepare the sanctuary for the Lord’s Super, and the candidates for Baptism.  We are also called upon to assist the deacons, pastor and other church groups in all activities where our help may be needed.

During the years, God, in his infinite wisdom, has summoned some of our members to their eternal resting place. God has wonderfully blessed and richly rewarded our Board with other faithful members.
