Deacon Ministry

Deacon Silas Thompson - Chairman
“Deacons must be reverent, not doubled-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with pure conscience.”  1 Timothy 3:8-9
The Deacon Ministry was organized in 1938, under the leadership of the founder, the late Rev. James E. Miles.  The first deacons to serve as officers in this body of believers in Christ were Deacon Julius Dollson, Deacon William Miles and Deacon James Parker.
In 1945, when the church expanded and moved to it’s present location, the need for more officers became necessary.  Thus, more deacons were elected to serve this growing congregation.  Some are still serving faithfully.  For those whom the Lord has seen fit to call home, be it known here, that their service is gratefully acknowledged and our prayers are that they have found favor with our Heavenly Father.
